Davies: Prendick be damned! Shut your stinking gob, that’s your name. [Pointing toward the launch.] That way, now. That’s your way.

Prendick: What do you mean?

Davies: You heard me, that’s what I mean!

SAILOR (Jon) uses the cask to bump PRENDICK in the back from behind. PRENDICK stumbles C.

 

Davies (cont'd): Look sharp, nancy! We’re cleaning the whole blessed ship out.

Moreau: He’s not coming with us.

Davies: Well, he’s not staying here. Not on my ship.

Moreau: [To PRENDICK] Can’t have you. You’re on your own.

Davies: Then he goes overboard!

DAVIES turns SR and starts to walk away. PRENDICK follows.

Prendick: You can’t do that!

DAVIES takes the cask away from SAILOR (Jon).

Davies: [To the SAILORS] Shut his stupid hole!

SAILOR (Jon) steps in and punches (right straight shot, active knap) PRENDICK. PRENDICK immediately falls flat (seat drop).

DAVIES tosses the cask back to SAILOR (Jon), who pitches it to SAILOR (Paul), who pitches it to SAILOR (Dan), who places it on the launch. DAVIES crosses to PRENDICK.

Davies: This ship ain’t for beasts and cannibals and god–rotted scientists, anymore. I’ve done with your kind!

DAVIES starts to walk away.

Prendick: Captain, show some mercy…

DAVIES whirls around and grabs PRENDICK by the shirt front, lifting him half off the deck.

Davies: Mercy be damned!

DAVIES hauls PRENDICK to his feet and slings him, face first, into the SR ratlines (ship's ladder).

Davies (cont'd): I am God on this ship and there’ll be no mercy for the likes of you.

DAVIES spins PRENDICK around to face US. Sailor (Dan) gets two belaying pins from SL pin rail and tosses one to SAILOR (Jon).

Prendick: Please, sir, don’t do this…

DAVIES punches (right contact) PRENDICK in the stomach. PRENDICK bends over in reaction. SAILOR (Jon) steps in to deliver a descending (Up to Down, active knap) blow to PRENDICK. PRENDICK raises his left arm to absorb the blow and reacts to a brutal hit. Sailor (Dan) steps in with a rising (Down to Up, passive knap (Phil)) hit to PRENDICKs face. PRENDICK reacts back against the ratlines, then drops to his knees on the deck, then to all fours.

DAVIES kicks PRENDICK (right foot, contact stomach). PRENDICK reacts by rolling to his back. SAILOR (Dan) starts to prep for another hit, but is pushed aside by SAILOR (Paul), who straddles PRENDICKs chest. SAILOR (Paul) does a hair grab (left-hand, double counter-grabbed by PRENDICK) and lifts PRENDICK partway up. SAILOR (Jon) moves in to block the SR audience angle, then SAILOR (Paul) hits PRENDICK (right jab, 3rd-person knap (Jon)) in the face.

Montgomery: Stop! Stop this! Are you not Men?

MONTGOMERY hauls SAILOR (Paul) off of PRENDICK and slings him SL. SAILOR (Paul) is about to come right back into the fray, but is stopped by MOREAU, who has wandered distractedly across his path.

Montgomery (cont'd): [To MOREAU] We can’t leave him with them.

Moreau: I don’t see why not.
